Right from the beginning, two utilities are needed to accomplish this task: SummerBoard & Customize. Both of them can be downloaded through Installer.
★ Installer > System > SummerBoard
★ Installer > Utilites > CustomizeSummerBoard is to change wallpaper and the software icons.
Customize is to replace small icons (like Wifi, Carrier, BlueTooth, Slide Bar, etc.), edit the text strings (like Slide to Unlock, Slide to Power off, etc.), modify the settings of system sound, software order and vibration.Once you finish the installation, remember to restart your iPhone before using them to change the theme. Now you will go through two parts to finish changing the theme.
Part 1, using SummerBoard
There are two ways you can obtain themes.
First, you can download and install a theme through Installer.
Installer > Themes (SummerBoard)Second, if a theme is not available through Installer, you will have to add it manually. A theme available on the internet will be published in the form of a zip file. Download and unzip it before upload the packed files onto your iPhone. Then locate the Themes folder according to your iPhone’s specific firmware. Generally, the theme files will go into var/root/library/SummerBoard/Themes folder on version 1.1.2 and lower and in the var/mobile/library/SummerBoard/Themes folder on version 1.1.3 and above. Here is the file structure of the Themes folder, each representing part of the theme on screen display:
ThemeName/Icons/*.png
ThemeName/Dock.png
ThemeName/MiniDock.png
ThemeName/StatusBar.png
ThemeName/Wallpaper.pngIn this case, you can even modify or replace the theme files, infusing the theme with more personality. But before the DIY action, you have to bear in mind three points:
★ the filename should not be changed;
★ the image format should be png;
★ the size of the image should be the same with the original.
When you are done in either way, open SummerBoard to select the theme you want.Part 2, using Customize
Like SummerBoard, you can download and install a theme either through Installer (Installer > Themes (Customize))var/root/Library/Customize folder. Or from the internet. The theme files from the internet will go into
